Badminton 2015/2016
St Ben’s badminton club had a very successful first year. We played every Tuesday after school and on Wednesdays at lunchtime. The children took part in both individual and team competitions and showed great levels of skill and sportsmanship throughout. We also had a great day out at the All Ireland Schools competition in Baldoyle Badminton Centre, where the players represented the school brilliantly against some very tough competition.
We’d like to say well done to everyone on your play throughout the year. Particular congratulations to Conor who won the individual ‘Ladder’ tournament, Gzregorz, Evin, Reilly and Dylan who won the team competition, and Christina who won the end of year ‘American tournament’. A big thank you to Stephen & co from the Community Centre who helped with set-up every week and made the teachers’ job a lot easier. Thanks also to Lee, Kevin, David, Maja and Grant from Mr Coleman’s class who gave up their lunchtimes to help out with the 4th class trials, it was much appreciated!
Well done and here’s to another great year of badminton in 2016/17!
